What I witnessed there is the same exact story that puts most small buisnesses out of business in the
first several years of opening. Online and offline businesses are making two huge mistakes

MISTAKE #1

The first big mistake is that no matter how good your food is

and how nice the atmosphere of your cafe might be if you don’t have TRAFFIC it is all wasted.

So when we traslate all this on online businesses the very same thing is true.

You might have best idea and best information for people but if they don’t see it they won’t come.

The really good news about online businesses is that there is NO SHORTAGE OF TRAFFIC.

Millions of people are surfing around the interenet every single day.
No matter what you are “selling” there are people out there looking for it.

There are many way to get those eyeballs to look at you.

TWO MAIN WAYS TO GET TRAFFIC

There is FREE TRAFFIC which includes most social media (Twittter, Facebook, Linkedin, Pinterest etc). You can find a good deal of traffic from these sites if you know how to use them.

The second way to get those eyeballs looking at you is PAID TRAFFIC
Paid traffic includes pay per click ads, adsence and other paid sources. This is where they big numbers come from.
Instead of generating a few leads each day you can generate hundreds.

MISTAKE #2

OK, so we know we can’t just set up a website and expect the world to come.

We have to go get out traffic from somewhere.

BUT, when they come we better have a process in place that leads them to come “inside”‘ our store.

We need what is called a “funnel” where we offer them value or something free in

exchange for their name and email. Then we need things to offer them that they are

looking for and that will help them. With the help of carefully worded emails

we can lead them from accepting our free offer, to buying something small,

to buying something that is a high ticket item.

All of these actions that a person takes when they come to your site can be tracked.

We can track how many come to your site, how many opt in and become your subscriber,

how many buy the small items, and how many buy the big stuff.

HOW TO TURN YOUR BUSINESS INTO A WELL-OILED MACHINE

Let’s assume you are now generating traffic and people are responding and buying things.

The game is not over. It has just begun.

Now you need to refine your process and make it more and more effective.

You do this by tracking every single thing. You track how many come, how many opt in,

how many click on offers and what they buy. Now you begin to adjust things.

Maybe your place your ads someplace else or you place them at a different time of day.

Maybe you reword your sales letters to appeal to them more. You constantly check and adjust your system.

By generating traffic, converting the traffic, and then constantly adjusting

to make your process better, you can be assured of a business that pumps out the dollars to you.

Well, not really because we all know there are only a certain number of hours in a day.

But….I can help you do some things that will feel like you have more time.

What is the way out of this tangled mess?

The answer is the Development of SYSTEMS.

Let me give you an example.

1.  MAKE A LIST

After experiencing, in my business, some of the very things I mentioned above I stopped. I wrote down the list
of all the bases I was trying to cover. Then, I ranked them by priority. I asked myself what needed to be done first and fast?

2.  THEN MAKE DEADLINES:
If you create deadlines for projects you will find that you push yourself to get them done. It’s important to set them, it’s important to hit them, and it’s important to reward yourself when you do hit them!

3.  THEN CREATE A CALENDAR

Then I created a calendar where I blocked time for my jobs based on priority and deadlines.  I like a big visual calendar so I can check things off and see where I am.   It’s fun to do this.  Get some colored markers and color code your projects.

There’s one more step that makes this all work like a charm.

4.  GET READY FOR EACH DAY

At the end of each day clear your desk. Put away all your files. Take a look at your calendar and jobs that have come up through the day. PRIORITIZE AGAIN. This is called checking and adjusting!. Now write down you list of jobs for tomorrow…in order of priority. Keep you deadlines in mind. Everyday you when you sit down to work you have a clear list in front of you and get started without wasting time.

ONE MORE SECRET!

Get into the “zone”. If you play any sort of sport you know what I mean. You shut everything else out. There is NOTHING in the world except you and the task at hand. You focus and then you focus and then you focus some more!
Working “in the zone” helps you work efficiently and at your peak. You will be the most creative when you are in your zone. To get into your zone you should have a pattern of behavior you repeat every single time.
I sit at my desk. I take a deep breath. I turn of all music and distractions. I turn off my cell phone. I look at my list. And I go into my zone.

So, I hope these suggestions help you stay on a well-defined path to the accomplishment of your business success!

with Blogging is not different.  Starting a blog is a HUGE commitment.

It’s almost like starting a magazine.  So, to be successful here’s the roadmap.

1.  YOU MUST HAVE A PASSION FOR WHAT YOU WILL WRITE ABOUT

If you are not passionate about your subject you will soon find yourself losing steam and running out of ideas about what to write about. You will get “tired” of your subject and give up.  Plus, if you are not passionate about it…it will show.  You can’t write with enthusiasm unless you are really truly into what you’re writing about.

2.  YOU MUST BE AN EXPERT

You’ve heard the old saying, “fake it till you make it”….but guess what????  People can tell if you are faking it.  Also, they can tell if they are getting the same old tired stuff or fresh content that is packed with useful information.  So you really should not blog about something you don’t know about.

3.  YOU MUST HAVE ENDURANCE

Driving traffic to your blog using fancy SEO techniques is certainly a strategy many employ.  But the kind of “traffic” you get is not personal.  It is not people who are impressed with you and likely to keep coming back.  So the question is…are you really building a solid base of loyal followers who are there for your great content and will keep coming back.  If not, I would content that your customer base is very shakey and uncertain.  To build a solid base takes time and lots of dedication.  Sometimes you feel like you are putting out this great information and no one is reading it.  You have to just keep going ….in time (9 months or so) you start to get traction and real followers.

So, that’s the real truth about Successful Blogging….not tricks, now short-cuts, no easy buttons.  Just dedication, hard work, solid content, and passion.

Here’s the questions….

Does your content INSPIRE, EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN, OR CHANGE LIVES?   IF NOT….I THINK YOU MIGHT BE WASTING YOU TIME.

Successful Blogging requires real commitment and pays off big time in the log run as long as you follow these simple rules.

When you have decided to set up a site that will be your “home base” you need to choose the name very carefully.   So, first let’s think about why to set up a site in the first place.

WHY HAVE A SITE???

Well, Here’s a couple of thoughts:

If you are promoting a business opportunity having you own site established credibility.  So, let’s say you are on Facebook making friends.  And they ask you what you do??  

How great it would be to say “Glad that you asked, here’s the link to my site that will tell you a lot about what I’m doing…would love your feedback”.  

This automatically puts you way ahead of the other people who are working to promote themselves online.  This is called an authority site and it sets you up to been seen as a more serious marketer that is offering value to the marketplace.

DONT’ START A SITE UNLESS YOU PLAN TO WORK ON IT

Remember this is your showroom.  This is where you send people to see who you are.  So, before you begin you have to make a commitment to write something almost ever single day.  And what you write should be interesting and helpful and something you feel pretty passionate about.  Remember, if you have a site you have to write about it for years to come.  So, if you are not passionate about it…don’t start for sure!!

NOW WHAT SHOULD YOU CALL YOU SITE/??

When you go to Godaddy to purchase a domain site you will be able to see what is available.  Here are two ways to look at this.

FIRST:   If you name your site by your name (like mine is Kathyboyce.com) then you are branding yourself.  People will learn to know YOU.  They will come to YOU for advice and help.  YOU are the real product.   This takes a little more time and effort but it definitely pays off.   The disadvantage of doing this is that if and when you want to sell your site it is just about you….so probably not as sellable as if it was a more generic name.   But if you are not concerned with sellin your site…then I would say to go for your name!!!

Second:   If your site is about a service your provide or like then try to to find something that just says it.  I personallly don’t like these sites that say (make money with me, or get rich with me or whatever).   Respect people’s intelligence and name it something that sounds professional.  One of my favorite sites is my a great guy I hightly respect whose name is Pat Flynn.  He has a site called

Smart Passive Income 

His site if perfect example of valuable content and a great name.  Now if you visit this site remember this has taken Pat years to build. So don’t expect to have this overnight.  But if you start out with a model like this in mind you can use it as a goal.

So, figure out what you want to promote, what you have a passion about, and pick your name carefully.  And make sure you have a total commitment to this process before you begin.

Do you hate it when people recommend something that they have not used?

If we have not used it how on earth can we recommend something to others ?

So, an affiliate is a person who “officially attaches and connects to an organization”.   So

You reputation on the line here.  When you recommend that others buy a product you are

saying to them that you think this is a good product and one that will solve their problems.

Most people think the first step of learning affiliate marketing is to find the products they want to promote either on their blogs or by paid advertising.  I think that before we even begin looking for products we need to cover a couple of VERY important bases.

So, the first step in learning affiliate marketing is  that you must understand is :

PEOPLE NEED TO TRUST YOU

Have you ever had someone recommend something to you and you really don’t trust that person?   If so, you know that their advice is not worth much.  You probably are not going to take the recommendation and run with it.  THis principle is the very same when we are recommending affiliate products.  If we are suggesting that others buy it (whatever it is) they need to trust US first.  Remember people buy people…NOT PRODUCTS.

So, Step one….in building trust is that you have to EARN IT.  Trust is not something people just give you because you have a nice face.  They trust you because you have demonstrated to them that you are TRUSTWORTHY.

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO BUILD TRUST ONLINE

First, You have to be seen and experienced as a person who GIVES.  When you interact in groups, forums, or social media you MUST always be thinking about what you can give to the community that will help them.

SECOND, you must get recommendations from others.  As you are seen as a giver people will learn to know that you are not in it just for you.  When that happens…THEY WILL TELL OTHERS.  That social proof is worth so much it cannot be measured.

So, now you have picked the products you want to sell on your site.  You have signed up as an affiliate.  You have received your affiliate link…NOW WHAT???

Good ways to make money online take a little effort but they are definitely the ways to make you blog posting worth the time it takes to maintain.

I love affiliate selling.   I don’t have to manufacture the product.  I don’t have to sell the product.  I don’t have to do the order fullfillment or process the transaction and I still get paid.  All I do is find products that will help the people I am serving with my blog.  These must be products I have used or am very familiar with.

When I have found these products I sign up (most often for free) to be an affiliate.  They send me a link and I write reviews about their product.  In the review i include the links.  When someone clicks on that link they are taken to the website of the manufacturer of the product who does the rest.  I receive a commission.  Simple as that.

Many Places to Find Products to use in Affiliate Selling

Here are a couple of quick tips.

You can go to Click Bank.  You can sign up for free.  THen click on the “marketplace” tab.  You will see all the categories of products there.  You can see how popular they are and how much you can make if someone buys them through your link.

You can go to other people’s blogs who speak to the same audience as you do.  Most often they will have a tab where their affiliate products are listed.  Visit these sites and see what they are offering.  Check them out and see if they are products you want to represent.  So…

Affiliate Selling is a way to have lots of things for sale in your store and not just one.

If you have a blog one way to make a lot of money is through affiliate selling.  Very simply, affiliate selling is when someone buys a products, a tool, or a training using a link you have provided for them that is especially coded to YOU.   You include these links in your article posts as you are talking about training your recommend or a tool you have used, or a product that you like.  In the copy of your blog you include the link that was provided by the manufacturer of the product.  If you reader clicks on that link they are taken to the site of the that product. 

The beauty is that all the rest of the process is easy for you.  The site you took them to will do the selling, they will do the order fulfillment, they will get payment and send you your commission.  Affiliate selling is a way to be paid for giving all kinds of free information to other people on you blog post.  

If you do affiliae selling you must be famiiar with your products

So, don't just go out and pick any old products and put them into your blogs.  They should be things your have used or that you are very familiar with.  Remember, your name will be attached to these products.  So, at least read about them.  Many of them will let you use them for free or for a very low one month trail fee.  If you actuallly use them you will be able to write a review that comes from your experience and not just what you have read.  Here is a quick little video I did for you to help you see how it works.
